It goes without saying that starting a new business is one of the most stressful things you can go through, although clearly exciting! Chuck in a global pandemic, and the task becomes even harder – that was the situation Henry Crowe found himself in when conceiving his new business venture “Scrapyard Golf” – a 21 hole crazy golf course in Northern Ireland!

Henry summed up his key area of concern for a venue management solution by saying “As I had never done anything like this before, I needed to ensure that I worked with a company that not only guided me through what I required but also would be patient, develop and grow with me.”

The Problem

Scrapyard Golf wanted a booking system that would meet the following core requirements:

This search ultimately lead Scrapyard Golf to BookNow Software and a few other vendors in the space. 

Scrapyard Golf were impressed with the interactions with the team at BookNow, with the knowledge and honesty of the solution, without resorting to badmouthing the competition – which Henry called “refreshing”.

The Solution

After the onboarding and training with BookNow Software, Scrapyard Golf are now really seeing the benefits of the solution.

“We started with 60 players in the first 3 days which quickly turned into 400 a day after that. It was impressive that the system was able to handle the volume so quickly.” 

One area in which Scrapyard Golf has been pleasantly surprised is the vastness of the reporting and analytics, with them being able to get a real understanding of their business and performance and ensure staffing numbers reflect the trends.

“As I build and learn how my business operates, I am always looking for how to best capture information and interpret it. After 4 weeks of being open, we can see via the reporting system, how successful we have been with number of players being consistent and being fully booked almost every day. This enables us to plan our staffing and opening hours as more customers are now moving to online booking before visiting rather than walk ins.”
